Purple Loosestrife Monoculture Video

Roger Batt points out to Bonnie Davis that this area is an example of how fire can devastate a monoculture resulting in a production of noxious weeds. Bonnie notes that this particular area burned last spring and the result was the whole area was opened up and every Purple Looostrife seed that could germinate, did so. She explains that they had a lot of spring showers and what they see is the result. The bull rush is completely gone, the cattails are very limited in number, and now this is just a solid monoculture of Purple Loosestrife.
