Survival Mechanisms Video
| Nina Eckberg explains that Orange Hawkweed is one of the plants that has a great survival mechanism. It is a perennial plant that not only comes back on its own root system, it also has a seed head that grows like a dandelion that turns into little parachute type seeds that will blow around. On top of that it also has a mechanism where it grows somewhat like a strawberry where little individual plants will grow off the mother plant called stolons. Those little plants will become mature plants. It perpetuates itself and becomes like a carpeted area where it takes over and moves the grass out. When they build the commercial property here they will be hauling the topsoil out and they will be moving this plant to another place. Back to Panorama
