Nina Eckberg, Superintendent of Kootenai County Noxious Weeds and Bill Hargrave with Kootenai County Noxious Weeds are looking at a large concentration of Meadow Hawkweed that is out competing the native grasses, forbes and forage for wild animals and livestock. Nina notes that the weed is established in the far field but the parachute type seeds that blow like a dandelion are coming into the forested area with some trees. It will establish itself very well in these open and sunny areas.
Note that there are several video "hot spots" available which provide a lot more detailed information.
